A new Partner at Apax Partners to develop TMT investments through the Development team

Paris (France), 13 May 2019 – Aymeric de Cardes has joined Apax Partners as a Partner specialised in TMT in the Development team, dedicated to the small cap segment. The Apax Partners investment team now has 37 members, including 15 Partners.

Aymeric de Cardes, 52, has 20 years of operational experience as a TMT sector executive and has carried out more than 15 M&A transactions as part of European build-ups.
He is a graduate of the Neoma Business School and has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Aymeric began his career at Gemini Consulting, then worked at AT Kearney. In 1999, he was appointed COO at the web hosting company Integra, which was sold in 2002 to Verizon-Genuity. He was then in charge of business development for SES Astra’s mobile multimedia business before joining the TDF group in 2007 where he became director of international development and M&A. In 2015, he was appointed CEO of Arkena, a subsidiary of TDF.

Caroline Rémus, President of Apax Partners Development, said, “We are very pleased to welcome Aymeric to our team, in the TMT sector. This key sector constitutes 40% of Apax Partners’ activities, but only 20% of European private equity investments. Aymeric’s specialised knowledge of the sector, his network and his 20 years of operational experience will have a decisive impact on our current and future portfolio. Our objective is to make Apax Partners Development the partner of choice for executives of TMT sector SMEs.

Aymeric de Cardes, TMT Partner at Apax Partners Development, added, “The constant innovation at tech companies is opening up a host of opportunities for market participants to differentiate themselves and to grow and develop. Software companies in general and ITSs in particular are living in a time that is very favourable to growth. They are taking advantage of the development of the cloud, of SaaS/PaaS models and of the prodigious increase in the volume of digital and Big Data. Meanwhile, telecom operators are undergoing radical change with new veins of growth in business services, in particular owing to the development of VoIP and unified communications. Against this background, I believe in our ability to find the best ways to help executives develop their companies.”
